This page will contain guide help and info on the best places for Alliance characters to level efficiently from Level 1 to Level 60 - prioritizing a streamlined experience though regions with plentiful quick quests, and avoiding overly difficult or lengthy quests and zones.
Note that everyone's leveling experience can change - whether due to PvP in certain zones, server stability, abundance or other players, or your personal preferences in leveling. This page is meant to serve as a general guide of places you should and should not visit - but feel free to deviate and chart your own course whenever it feels appropriate.
- Your leveling experience is generally the sum of three parts - Traveling, Fighting, and Resting. The key to an efficient leveling process is to balance each of these areas as best you can.
- For being efficient when traveling - always plan ahead for your next move, use autorun while you check your next quests and locations. If you're playing a class that can boost their speed, you should always invest in improved talents if possible (Hunter Pathfinding, Shaman Improved Ghost Wolf, etc).
- You should always be killing monsters both to and from quests. Grinding in itself isn't a great way to level fast, but killing things on the move while completing quests ensures you're always gaining experience instead of passing on opportunities.
- Try to stock up on quests that send you to a new area before actually visiting that location, as it can reduce downtime on traveling back and forth.
- Stock up on necessary supplies before leaving town - make sure you do everything you need to before you head out (leveling needed spells and skills, repairing, buying food or ammo).
- Not all spells need to be bought - especially if you want to save money to get a mount as soon as possible at level 40. Take note of what abilities you use most in your leveling rotation, so you can ignore buying ones that you never use.
- Consider having alternate gear with +Spirit to equip when resting between fights, as it will increase the rate at which you regain health and mana.
- Certain classes - like Warriors and Rogues - can have a tough time on their own compared to more self-sufficient classes like Hunters and Druids. Consider leveling with a friend to reduce the time resting and being able to take on more monsters at once.
- In PvP servers, be aware of your surrounding and where you're fighting. Finding places off the beaten path to kill monsters for quests instead of standing at the front of an area can reduce the chance for enemies to spot and distract you.
